Dr Michael Scholz
Automation Scientist & Software Developer
Michael completed a BSc and PhD in chemistry at the University of Melbourne, where he helped build custom ion mobility-mass spectrometers to study how light-activated molecules change shape. He then moved to UCL, where he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in chemical physics, leading development of algorithms to model beta radiation flow through water and building computer interfaces to control laboratory hardware.
At Bactobio, Michael will be contributing to building the laboratory automation framework and digital infrastructure in close collaboration with the lab-based researchers.
When not at work or hunting for the best coffee in London, Michael is usually either trying to learn Japanese, cooking, or taking photos, mostly of cute animals.
